God Bless Tim Tebow, but Eric Liddel Did It First

This ESPN article manifests what truly drives Tim Tebow; and that drive comes from within and from “above”.

But having proper perspective, having an eternal perspective in the face of our very temporal earthly existence isn’t something novel in modern sports, or even in the past few decades.  Famous Scottish Olympic runner and missionary Eric Liddell was running in the name of the Lord and keeping things in perspective 80 years ago.

Check out this clip from the movie “Chariots of Fire” in which Eric really brings it home. (embed was disabled...sorry)

*To the apostle Paul’s credit…he was the first to compare faith to running a race, some 1900 years ago lol.
